Fate T Harlaown

I didn’t expect to be doing any figure reviews in September, and just as well since we were moving this month but some unexpected rereleases as well as a last minute dash to get figma Yu means we are rolling again! Today’s review is one of those unexpected rereleases: figma Fate T Harlaown Barrier Jacket ver. She’s a fairly old figma, originally released in July 2008 and after seeing her 5000 yen price on Mandarake, I kinda gave up on her. But a chance to grab her at below retail (2080 yen at AmiAmi)? A quick break from work to exercise some buy button pushing skills was in order. Thanks for the restock Max Factory! But with her age, can she stand toe to toe with current figmas?

Review: Figma 075 Yu Kawamura

September 29, 2010 12 comments

Yu Kawamura (or Yuu Kawamura from some sources) of Se.Kirara is one of the 4 Figma we ordered this month and one we nearly missed on due to indecisiveness! Preorders for her filled up rather quickly but we managed to find her over at HLJ for the full retail price of 2857 yen (around $35 AUD or $33-34 USD). One of the major selling points of Max Factory’s Se.Kirara Figma girls is most likely due to the accessories they come with and Yu is no exception as she comes with many adorable kitchen utensils. They’re compatible with most other figures from the Figma line and I gotta admit it’s why I was interested in getting her. But do I think that she has anything more than her accessories going for her? Yup, I really do think so!

Review: Fauna by Alter

Fauna Title

Today I’ll be reviewing an older figure that we managed to snag recently: Fauna from the eroge and anime OAV Megamisama Chuuihou or Megachu! for short. There are actually 2 versions of Fauna, one by Alter and one by Max Factory. The one we have here is the Alter version which was originally released in June 2007 and rereleased in July 2008. The only difference between the 2 release dates is the blister card on the front of the box.

Every night for the last couple of weeks, I’d go to sleep wishing for the post man to wake me up in the morning with a parcel for Luth and I. I was hoping it’d arrive early on in the week when I had heaps of free time but unfortunately Black★Rock Shooter arrived from Japan on Thursday so I’ve only just got around to taking a good look at her now and it was.. well, a rather interesting experience full of much joy and almost as much woe but my god, she’s gorgeous!

Please click the photos to see them at their proper size!

Review: HG 1/144 Gundam Avalanche Exia

Gundam Avalanche Exia

We haven’t really reviewed Gundam models before but since this is a fairly recent model, I figured I’d make a start. This is the 1/144 scale HG  GN001/hs-A01 Gundam Avalanche Exia. The original GN001 Exia is from the series Gundam 00 but the Avalanche version is actually from a side novel Gundam 00V so there was really no anime for it… yet. Would have loved to see this guy in action as it sounds really cool and the model kit is pretty awesome.
